Meet a great friend of mine, Renee Petermann! She is the owner and designer of all things at CoCoMi’s Unnecessary Necessities. She’s an incredible woman with a huge heart to help others through her design.
In the past, she’s donated a portion of her profits to organizations like StreetlightUSA and Project Belwop. StreetlightUSA is an organization that creates awareness and fights to abolish child sex slavery, IN PHOENIX.
Child prostitution and slavery is often assumed to only occur in third world countries but it’s happening in the United States and unfortunately, in Phoenix. The beautiful thing is they don’t work alone, they partner with other organizations and influential people in the community who are also fighting this, like Renee. Together we can do more than we could alone.
Renee Petermann has also supported Project Belwop through her creative collections. Belwop is an orphanage in Nyeri, Kenya that has come from poverty and because of supporters like Renee, is now successful and thriving.
Renee is talented, creative, and unbelievably passionate. She creates beautiful jewelry pieces, headbands, and my favorite, clutches. I’m obsessing over them and can’t get enough! Take a peak at some of my favorite things she’s made!
Here is a personalized collection of clutches she made for a bridal party.
Here is a headband she created to support Belwop, made from authentic fabric from Kenya.
And here are just a few of her lovely jewelry pieces.
And just for fun, here are some more of her clutches!
Check out Renee’s shop on esty and her facebook fan page!

I really like the clean, simple design of your blog. It feels airy and uncluttered. I also appreciate the way you support your friend in her altruistic endeavors.
It amazes me what your friend does for StreetlightUSA. I had no idea child sex slavery, in phoenix took place. She a good person for helping this organization.
Her designs are beautiful and so is her soul. You’re lucky to be close to someone like this.
I love the clutches and what a great activist! I didn’t know this whole child sex slavery took place here. It is sad and depressing for sure. Many thanks to her creative works and community out-reach.
